Who handles your information

The Mafube Investment & Jobs Summit programme team manages information submitted through this site. For a privacy question, correction or deletion request, contact Email the privacy team. This website does not identify unconfirmed institutional partners as data controllers.

What we collect and why

When you register interest, we collect the name, email, optional organisation and phone number, attendance category, area of interest and your update preference. We use those details to manage summit participation and communicate relevant logistics. The optional update checkbox records a separate choice about programme and follow-up email. Optional SMS consent and mobile number allow summit texts through the configured SMS provider. Optional age group, gender, municipality, province, industry, organisation type and job level contribute to aggregated reporting only with separate consent. Organisers manage registration status, check-in and attendance through a restricted dashboard with an audit record of administrative changes. The communications team can also see provider delivery results and, where available, email opens and link clicks. You can withdraw optional email updates through the link in a message and SMS updates by replying STOP.

A newsletter sign-up stores your email and the time of your consent for summit updates. An enquiry form collects your name, email, selected purpose, message and privacy acknowledgement so the relevant mailbox can receive and answer it. Form submissions are checked for spam. Enquiries are stored so organisers can review them if email delivery is unavailable. Delivery status is shown separately from receipt of the enquiry.

Creating an optional account stores a profile and authentication details in Lovable Cloud Auth. Your email must be verified before an existing registration can be linked to your account. Signing up does not grant access to the organiser dashboard. Records of optional communication choices are kept with the registration or newsletter subscription.

Service providers and messages

Registration, newsletter and enquiry records are held in the site's Lovable Cloud database. Approved logos and media resources are served from public cloud storage; generated attendee reports are kept in private storage for authorised organisers. Contact messages, when the email service is configured, are sent through Resend to the appropriate summit mailbox. If you open the summit information chat and send a message, its text is sent to the configured AI service to provide an answer. Please do not put sensitive personal information in chat. Fonts and site hosting may also involve requests to external service providers.

The venue map uses OpenStreetMap tiles, which load as you view the page. Your browser contacts OpenStreetMap and may share technical information such as your IP address. The directions link opens Google Maps in a separate tab. Neither service receives your registration details from this site.

We do not sell the information you provide. We use it for the stated summit purpose and share it with service providers needed to operate the site. Provider handling may involve processing outside South Africa subject to their service arrangements.

Cookies and local storage

The site saves your cookie choice in your browser under mafube-cookie-consent-v1, with the category settings and save time. Necessary storage supports these preferences. Analytics and marketing categories are optional; no optional analytics or advertising tags are currently installed by this project. Choosing Accept, Reject or custom preferences records that choice, and no optional tags run without a relevant choice. If you sign in, authentication session information is also stored in your browser to keep your account accessible.

How long records remain

We keep registration information for summit administration and follow-up, newsletter records while you wish to receive updates, and enquiry messages while they are needed to resolve the request and maintain an appropriate record. You can ask for review, correction or deletion. We will assess requests against applicable legal and operational requirements.

Your choices and rights

You may ask what information we hold about you, request a correction, withdraw newsletter consent or request deletion where appropriate. Withdrawal does not change the handling of a request made before it. To stop summit emails or make another request, use the privacy address above. You may also raise a concern with South Africa's Information Regulator.

Other websites

Sharing links open social or messaging services with their own privacy practices. A WhatsApp Channel link will only appear after an official channel is configured. Downloadable media assets are served directly from this website.
